AION 2 Cleric Guide: Healing, Stigmas and PvE/PvP Build
I rolled a Cleric as my first character and it was the most relaxing choice I could have made: groups invite you instantly, and you're surprisingly hard to kill while playing alone because you can simply heal yourself. The Cleric is AION 2's dedicated main healer — mace in hand, back line, keeping the party alive — but it has a genuine Earth/Wind damage kit, so you're not bored when everyone is healthy. Here's how to play it well as of October 2026.
What the Cleric actually does
Your job splits into three things, in this order of importance:
- Keep people alive with direct heals, heals-over-time, shields and cleanses.
- Support the party with damage-reduction and durability buffs.
- Fill downtime with damage and debuffs, including a party-wide damage-tolerance reduction on the target.
You also bring resurrection, which makes you one of the most valuable players in any dungeon or raid. If you want the fuller picture of where the class sits, the class tier list and beginner class picks both rate the Cleric as a top group pick — with the caveat that healing a party is more responsibility than a DPS role carries.
The skills that matter
Healing & support
- Healing Light — your short-cooldown workhorse heal and the one worth leveling early; reliable, spammable, cheap.
- Radiant Recovery — instant party heal in an area around you that also removes a debuff (up to two with a specialty).
- Light of Regeneration — a long HoT on the party; the specialty adds defense, move speed and damage tolerance while it's running.
- Cleanses and shields — saving a party member from a lethal debuff matters more than raw healing numbers.
Damage (you have a real rotation)
- Chain of Torment — your level-1 spammable: Earth damage plus a damage-over-time effect, and it lowers the enemy's damage tolerance (so the whole party hits harder).
- Condemnation / Judgment — your follow-up nukes that pair with Chain of Torment.
- Divine Aura — a placed damage turret; drop it where you'll be fighting for a while, then go back to healing.
- Bolt — use it to group mobs together before AoE.
PvE skill priority
There are two sensible PvE builds, and you can switch between them with the free skill reset:
- Full Support (casual groups, high-damage dungeons): prioritize Healing Light, your party HoT, cleanses and defensive cooldowns. Keep Chain of Torment's debuff on the boss in your spare global cooldowns.
- DPS Hybrid (experienced, survivable groups): level Chain of Torment and Condemnation hard, keep the DoT and damage-tolerance debuff up, and weave the party healing only when needed.
A simple leveling priority: get Chain of Torment and Condemnation up first for the damage loop and party debuff, then Healing Light, then Judgment Thunder, Earth's Retribution and Divine Aura. Take MP-cost specialties on Earth's Retribution until mana stops being a problem. Don't overthink the rotation while following the main story to 45 — a happy, alive party is the only parse that matters.
Best Stigmas
Stigma usage among global Clerics clusters around a few clear favorites (equip rates from community build data):
- Light of Protection (the most-equipped) — party damage and durability buff; your default group Stigma.
- Earth Punishment — enables and empowers your Condemnation pressure; the core pick for an offensive/DPS-hybrid Cleric.
- Summon Resurrection — battle resurrection, enormous progression utility when someone dies mid-fight.
- Prayer of Amplification — a short offensive burst window for burn phases.
- Noble Aura — passive extra offensive pressure.
- Absolution — emergency group healing plus cleanse for tight mechanics.
For general PvE I take Light of Protection plus Earth Punishment, then Summon Resurrection if the dungeon has lethal mechanics. Stigmas unlock at 22 and resetting them refunds your Stigma Shards for free, so experiment per encounter — the full system is explained in our skills guide, and remember you only get four Stigma slots (22/27/32/37).
Stat priority
- PvE healer: Healing Power / Attack → Max HP → Cooldown Reduction → Damage Tolerance → Mana Regen/Combat Speed.
- Offensive/DPS Cleric: Attack → Critical Damage → Critical Hit Rate → Cooldown Reduction → Accuracy.
- Group PvP: Max HP → Status Effect Resist → PvP Damage Tolerance → Attack/Heal Boost.
Core healing passives to look for include Healing Enhancement, Warm Benediction and Immortal Veil; damage builds lean on Empyrean Lord's Grace and Earth's Grace.
Solo leveling
Cleric is genuinely comfortable alone: pull with Chain of Torment, keep Condemnation pressure on, drop Divine Aura, and heal through any damage you take. Mobs simply can't out-damage your self-healing in normal story content, which is why it's a low-stress first MMO character even though group healing is high-responsibility later. It's one of the safer picks in the beginner mistakes guide precisely because you rarely feel stuck on content.
PvP playstyle
In arena and open-world Abyss fights you're a priority target, so PvP is about survival, cleansing and disrupting rather than throughput:
- Stack Max HP, status-effect resist and PvP damage tolerance.
- Keep yourself and teammates cleansed and topped; a living Cleric wins wars of attrition.
- Use your shield and defensive cooldowns when focused; reposition constantly — you're more valuable alive than landing a nuke.
- Consider Voice of Doom against other Clerics, Chanters and Templars, since its shield-stripping effect punishes defensive opponents.
Common Cleric mistakes
- Waiting for health bars to drop before you act — pre-HoTing the party before a big mechanic is better than panic-healing after.
- Ignoring Chain of Torment's debuff; it's free party damage.
- Putting expensive Manastones into leveling gear you'll replace — hold them for a keeper once you're at the level-45 gearing stage.
- Trying to out-DPS a dedicated damage class instead of leaning into why groups invited you.
TL;DR
Main healer with a real damage kit; safest group invite in the game and easy to solo. Level Chain of Torment/Condemnation and Healing Light, take Light of Protection + Earth Punishment Stigmas, prioritize Healing Power/Attack and HP, and in PvP build tanky and focus on cleanses and survival.
